COSMIC

The Common Software Measurement International Consortium (COSMIC) is a not-for-profit organization, committed to promoting and supporting the use of COSMIC-FFP, the international ISO/IEC standard 19761:2003 method for software sizing. COSMIC supports as well the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group - ISBSG - which has recognized COSMIC-FP as a data collection standard for benchmarking and estimation purposes.

COSMIC-FP Examination

As the use of COSMIC-FP continues to grow, it is essential that individuals with an adequate level of knowledge be recognized by passing a formal certification examination.  A certified COSMIC-FP Measurer is acknowledged as having the skills necessary to apply consistently the COSMIC-FP measurement rules according to the ISO 19761 standard and as comprehending the most up-to-date size measurement practices.

The COSMIC-FP Certification Program is being designed not only to elevate professional standards and evaluate individual performance, but to recognize and distinguish those who have mastered the measurement skills in applying the ISO 19761 standard.

COSMIC is pleased to announce that a certification examination will be held at the SMEF2008 conference.
